Service Description for Optional Services Priced Software

This Service Description for Optional Services ("SDOS") describes generally the features of the Optional Services Priced Software: Riverbed SteelHead CX for Virtual.

3.1 Overview

3.1.1 The Riverbed SteelHead CX for Virtual is software that delivers the benefits of WAN optimization, similar to those offered by the Riverbed SteelHead CX hardware, while also providing the flexibility of virtualization. Built on the same RiOS technology as the Riverbed SteelHead CX, Riverbed SteelHead CX for Virtual reduces bandwidth utilization and speeds up application delivery and performance. 3.1.2 Riverbed SteelHead CX for Virtual is available to be used with a Client supplied software package license and support plan.

3.1.3 Only layer 3 mode is supported. This may limit certain Riverbed SteelHead CX functions such as Virtual Services Platform (VSP), Riverbed Services Platform (RSP), Proxy File Services (PFS) and fail-to-wire.

3.1.4 Hardware reports and notifications are not supported. This may limit certain Riverbed SteelHead CX functions such as Disk Status reports, hardware-based alerts and notifications such as RAID alarms.
